Benjamin Todd Jealous

Benjamin Todd Jealous descends from generations of freedom fighters and his passion for social justice literally runs through his veins. He is the former President and CEO of the NAACP. During his tenure, Ben expanded the NAACP’s capacity to organize around issues pertaining to the economy and voter registration and mobilization. A passionate advocate for change, Ben is a thought leader in the fight to ban the death penalty, outlaw racial profiling, defend voting rights, secure marriage equality, and free wrongfully incarcerated people. He is currently a Senior Fellow at the Center for American Progress, where he focuses on tracking political trends that affect civil and human rights and contributes to developing policy solutions that ensure equity and opportunity for all Americans. He is also a partner at Kapor Capital, an Oakland, California-based firm that leverages the technology sector to create social change.
